Colombo - Second T20I: New Zealand embarrass Sri Lanka again in T20 (NZL 2:0|2)

New Zealand recorded their second Twenty20 success over Sri Lanka in three days with a 22-run victory on Friday that helped them sweep the two-match series.
34-year-old Shane Bond, into his second international comeback-match, claimed three wickets for 18, while Jesse Ryder clobbered 52 off 37 deliveries and Brendon McCullum made 49 off 34, the two putting on 84 for the opening wicket in quick time as the visitors piled on a formidable 170-4 after Daniel Vettori won a good toss.

In reply, Mahela Jayawardene then made 41 and Kumar Sangakkara struck a valiant 69, but the home side managed only 148-8.

Colombo - First T20I: Oram hat-trick stun Sri Lanka (NZL 1:0|2)

Sri Lanka opener Tillakaratne Dilshan slammed 57 off 28 deliveries to put the hosts well on course to reach a target of 142 at the R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, before Jacob Oram took a hat-trick to help New Zealand secure a three-run success in the first T20 international.

Oram's hat-trick - the second in a T20 international after Australia's Brett Lee - started with the last ball of the 17th over when he got the wicket of Angelo Mathews. Oram returned to bowl the final over and stunned Sri Lanka by claiming two more wickets from the first two balls.
The second and final match of the series is also in Colombo on Friday.
New Zealand 141/8 (Taylor 60, Malinga 2-21) beat Sri Lanka 137/9 (Dilshan 57, Oram 3-32) by three runs

Daniel Vettori's 140 runs, his fourth and best test hundred, went in vain as Sri Lanka beat New Zealand by 96 runs in the second cricket test and swept the series 2-0 and cemented their place at No. 2 in the ICC Test rankings.

Spinner Rangana Herath took five wickets as the tourists, needing 494 to win, were bowled out for 397 shortly before tea.

Muttiah Muralitharan took three wickets (for 88 runs) and ran out the last batsman as Sri Lanka beat New Zealand by 202 runs Saturday with a session to spare in the first cricket Test. He took seven wickets for 161 runs in the match.
Opener Tim McIntosh was the only top order player to pass 50 for New Zealand. The hosts set New Zealand an unlikely 413-run victory target and dismissed them for 210 in 71.5 overs shortly before tea on the final day. Thushara finished with two for 37 from 14 overs and Mendis claimed two for 50 from 18.5 overs.
