New Zealand recorded their second Twenty20 success over Sri Lanka in three days with a 22-run victory on Friday that helped them sweep the two-match series.
34-year-old Shane Bond, into his second international comeback-match, claimed three wickets for 18, while Jesse Ryder clobbered 52 off 37 deliveries and Brendon McCullum made 49 off 34, the two putting on 84 for the opening wicket in quick time as the visitors piled on a formidable 170-4 after Daniel Vettori won a good toss.In reply, Mahela Jayawardene then made 41 and Kumar Sangakkara struck a valiant 69, but the home side managed only 148-8.

Sri Lanka opener Tillakaratne Dilshan slammed 57 off 28 deliveries to put the hosts well on course to reach a target of 142 at the R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, before Jacob Oram took a hat-trick to help New Zealand secure a three-run success in the first T20 international.Oram's hat-trick - the second in a T20 international after Australia's Brett Lee - started with the last ball of the 17th over when he got the wicket of Angelo Mathews. Oram returned to bowl the final over and stunned Sri Lanka by claiming two more wickets from the first two balls.
The second and final match of the series is also in Colombo on Friday.
