Umar Akmal hit a maiden century and Rao Iftikhar Anjum took his first five-wicket haul Friday to lead Pakistan to it's first win on tour after losing 2-0 in the three-Test series and now trailing 3-1 in the five-match ODI series.Umar Akmal's 102 came off just 72 deliveries and carried the tourists to a challenging total of 321 for five in their 50 overs. Captain Younus Khan scored 89 and Umar's brother Kamran Akmal made 57.
In reply, Sri Lanka came up 146 runs short. Tharanga top scored with 80 while 7 batsmen failed to reach double figures.

Former Sri Lankan cricket captain Mahela Jayawardene hit his first one-day century (123) in two years to give his team an unbeatable 3-nil lead in their 5-match series against Pakistan.
Jayawardene and Upul Tharanga (76) put on an opening stand of 202, a first-wicket record for ODIs between the countries.Sri Lanka won the third match by six wickets with 21 balls to spare after Pakistan had scored 288/8. Captain Younis Khan made 44 and Kamran Akmal added 45, while Shahid Afridi smashed 32. Umar Akmal was the leading scorer with 66.

Skipper Sangakkara scored a defiant unbeaten century and kept the Pakistan bowlers at bay to deny them any chance of a consolation win in the third and final test. Chasing 492 for victory, Sri Lanka needed 101 more runs in 15 overs, when both captains decided to shake hands and call it off. Sangakkara hit 130 from 303 balls, including seven boundaries, and the superb century was his first as skipper and the 19th of his career. He shared a 122-run fourth-wicket stand with Samaraweera, Sri Lanka's highest partnership in the series.
Sri Lanka had put on 391/4 in 134 overs when the match ended.

Colombo - Third Test, Day four: Sri Lanka chasing 492

Pakistan remained on course to win the third and final cricket Test after setting an improbable target of 492 for Sri Lanka. The hosts were 183-3 in their second knock at stumps. Pakistan will need seven wickets and Sri Lanka a further 309 runs in 90 overs when play starts on the final day. The visitors had earlier declared at 425-9 soon after lunch with Shoaib Malik making 134.

Colombo - Third Test, Day three: Pakistan pull ahead and in control

A century from Shoaib Malik and his partnership with Misbah-ul-Haq helped put Pakistan on top at the end of the third day of the third and final Test against Sri Lanka in Colombo.Malik struck an unbeaten 106 and put on 119 for the fifth wicket with Misbah, helping Pakistan recover from 67/4. At stumps, they were 300 for 5, a lead of 366.
Sri Lanka coach Trevor Bayliss said he was confident his team can still win the third test against Pakistan to complete a series whitewash. Sri Lanka is the only team to have successfully chased a target in excess of 200 in the fourth innings at the Sinhalese Sports Club ground, making 326 against Zimbabwe in 1998.

Former captain Mahela Jayawardene top-scored for Sri Lanka with 79, while Tillakaratne Dilshan made 44.
Pakistan resumed the second day on 289/7, but lost its remaining wickets for just 10 runs in 22 balls as fast bowler Thilan Thushara completed his maiden five-wicket haul giving away 83 runs from 24.4 overs.Pakistan had lost one wicket in their second innings, and were 16/1 in 9 overs at stumps.

Pakistan, already 2-0 down in the three-match series, lost three wickets in eight balls just before the close and slumped from 203-2 to 289-7 in the final Test in Colombo. For Pakistan, opener Khurram Manzoor hit 93, Mohammad Yousuf 90 and Shoaib Malik 45. Yousuf, who added 167 valuable runs for the third wicket with Manzoor, became the third Pakistan batsman to aggregate 7000 test runs after Javed Miandad (8832) and Inzamam-ul-Huq (8829).

Sri Lanka clinched their first home series against Pakistan after the tourists suffered a spectacular collapse in the second innings. Pakistan, who were in a strong position with 294 runs on the board losing only two wickets as they went into lunch on the third day, crashed to 320 all out after the break to leave Sri Lanka a victory target of 171.
Debutant centurion Alam, who was unbeaten on 164 at lunch, could add just 4 more. Pakistan lost 8 wickets for 26 runs in a shade under 16 overs. Rangana Herath and Nuwan Kulasekara evenly shared the last 8 wickets. Opener Malinda Warnapura scored a brisk 54 from just 56 balls to help Sri Lanka reach its 171-run victory target with two days to spare. Sri Lanka had put on 41 for no loss in just 6 overs at tea. Captain Kumar Sangakkara fell for 46 with Sri Lanka just 11 runs short of victory. Of the previous five series between the two nations on Sri Lankan soil, Pakistan had won three and drawn two.

23-year-old debutant Fawad Alam scored an unbeaten century as Pakistan produced a remarkable turnaround against the hosts. Pakistan, who were bowled out for 90 in their first innings, hit back to dismiss Sri Lanka for 240 and then cruised to 178-1 in their second knock by stumps on the second day.The dismissal of the Sri Lanka captain at 188-5 sparked a batting collapse as the home side lost their remaining five wickets for 52 runs. Umar Gul took 4-43, including the wicket of Kumar Sangakkara for 87, and Saeed Ajmal picked up 4-87.

Colombo - Second Test, Day one: Pakistan collapse yet again

Sri Lanka dominated the first day of the second Test in Colombo, reaching 164-3 at the close having earlier skittled Pakistan for a paltry 90. Sri Lanka's pace duo of Nuwan Kulasekera (4 for 21) and Thilan Thushara ripped through Pakistan's top order in the opening session reducing them to 19-4 within the first seven overs before going to lunch on the first day struggling at 74-6. Ajantha Mendis (3-20) polished off the tail in style. Pakistan's total is their lowest against Sri Lanka and their seventh-lowest in all. At stumps, Kumar Sangakkara was unbeaten on 81 as Sri Lanka earned a 74-run lead.

Galle - First Test, Day four: Herath stuns unpredictable Pakistan (SRL 1:0|3)

Pakistan needed just 97 runs to win, with still 8 wickets in hand, when the play began on the fourth day at Galle today. But the young team slumped to a 50-run defeat just before the scheduled lunch break as Sri Lankan bowler Herath, who was in for an injured Murali, claimed four wickets in his spell of 12 overs giving away just 15 runs.
Mendis finished with 2-27 from 10 overs and Thushara chipped in with 2-21 from 12 overs. It was Sangakkara's first Test win as captain. At the end of the match, Pakistan were also fined for a slow over rate as if the shock defeat was not enough. Rangana Herath was declared Man of the match for his outstanding contribution with the ball.
The second test begins in Colombo on Saturday.

17-year-old Left-arm pace bowler Mohammad Aamer claimed three wickets in an outstanding post-lunch spell to trouble Lanka. Galle - First Test, Day two: Yousuf gives Pakistan upper hand

Mohammad Yousuf marked his return to international cricket with a 112 in 186 balls to help Pakistan take a 50-run lead on first innings over Sri Lanka on day two of the opening Test in Galle, recovering from an overnight 15-2. Yousuf was back for Pakistan after a spell in the unsanctioned Indian Cricket League.
Sri Lanka had one over to negotiate before the end of the day's play and did so without scoring or losing a wicket.

Bowlers dominated the opening day of the first test at Galle on Saturday, with Pakistan slumping to 15 for two after Sri Lanka were bowled out for 292.
In the morning, 17-year-old paceman Pakistani Mohammad Aamer struck twice on his debut to leave Sri Lanka reeling on 21 for two. Lankan opener Paranavitana's maiden test half-century rescued the hosts, while all-rounder Angelo Mathews hit a quickfire 42 off 57 deliveries.
